Chase Ho Park...It's Official!!
Goodbye BOB. Hello Chase Ho Park!
The Diamondhacks unveiled their field's new name recently at the roofed stadium formerly known as Bank One Ballpark. The change reflects last year's merger of Bank One and JPMorgan Chase banks. The unexpected and cheeky addition of 'Ho' to the new moniker was explained by a team spokesman:
First, we felt 3 syllables resonated more than just 'Chase Park'. And we wanted to pay homage to Arizona's unique cultural heritage, like the Cubs did with Mesa's Ho Ho Kam Park . We dont know the exact meaning of 'Ho', but we're confident it has something to do with Indians. And regardless, we're very excited about it.
Chase Ho Park will refer to the playing surface and assets customarily adjacent to the grass - such as dugouts, bullpens and swimming pools flanked by military grade hydrocannons.
The stadium proper, including the steel infrastructure and roof will be known as 'The Enclosure @ Chase Ho Park.' And the name of the 17 acre stadium site has been legally changed to The Heat Island Cooking 'The Enclosure @ Chase Ho Park.'
